MUSIC: Laura Izibor

Add the name Laura Izibor to the list of talented artists that go unknown in most the western world. Born to an Irish mother and Nigerian father, Izibor combines equal parts R&B, jazz, and soul with a pinhc of folk-stylings to create a debt album that is like a delicious three-course that doesn't make you need to unbutton your pants afterward. Satisfying and at the same time light, Let the Truth Be Told is great as background music while relaxing around the house or an intimate dinner party.

Be careful, though, if you start listening to the lyrics, for they will grab your heart strings and not let go. All penned by Izibor herself, several outstanding tracks include the catchy and uplifting opener, "Shine", the loving "What Would You Do", and, my person favorite, the thoughtful and potentially genre-defying "If Tonight Is My Last".
